Creating association with a custum objet for internal app.

We are encountering a consistent 403 error when attempting to create associations between standard engagement objects (emails, meetings, notes) and our custom object (“workspaces”) via the HubSpot API

Our Use Case

We have built an automation system that synchronizes HubSpot engagement activities with our internal workspace management system. Our workflow is:

1. Retrieve engagements (emails, meetings, notes) from HubSpot via API
2. Identify associated contacts for each engagement
3. Map contacts to workspaces through existing contact-workspace associations
4. Create engagement-workspace associations to maintain data consistency

This automation is critical for our business operations as it ensures all client interactions are properly categorized by workspace for reporting, billing, and project management purposes.

• Account: Enterprise-level HubSpot subscription with custom objects enabled
