2025 marked a significant year for Commerce Hub, filled with major updates and highly anticipated improvements….the exciting part is that this is only the beginning! We rolled out more than 58 product updates to Commerce Hub. Take a look at the summary below to see what’s new, and stay tuned for even more exciting developments in the new year.
Commerce Hub is structured around three main product groups: Billing, Payments, and CPQ, ensuring specialized solutions for every part of your commerce journey.
Billing
In direct response to the complexities our customers face with invoicing and subscription management, we introduced a set of powerful billing enhancements this year. These updates make it easier than ever to streamline billing workflows, improve accuracy, and give businesses greater flexibility and control.
- Billing Contact for Invoices and Subscriptions: This allows you to define and automatically select the right billing contact for invoices and subscriptions, ensuring every invoice reaches the right person without manual intervention. This not only streamlines billing workflows, especially for B2B companies with accounting integrations like QuickBooks or Xero, but also guarantees successful invoice syncing and payment management.
- Subscription Notifications: This update makes it easy to turn subscription-related emails on or off, so you control exactly which updates your buyers receive, including notifications about subscription changes, pauses, or billing date updates.
- Custom properties for Subscriptions: Custom properties for subscriptions help extend the data model to make it easier to unify data in HubSpot. Subscriptions help you manage recurring revenue and now offer more flexibility to add important details like additional contract dates, external IDs for provisioning, or files such as POs.
- Associate Invoices and Tickets: You can track and report on invoices generated from tickets. You can also track the tickets that are associated with a particular invoice.
- Preview and customize invoice emails: You can now customize and preview invoice emails that are sent from HubSpot. The invoice link and PDF download are also available options.
- Configurable invoice presets: Configurable invoice presets let you save and apply custom invoice settings, like alternate addresses or personalized comments, for different situations and customer groups.
- Access invoice actions from the sidebar: You can access the Invoices actions from the sidebar, and no longer need to navigate to the Invoices preview panel first. This will save you time when managing invoices within HubSpot.
- Automatically create invoices from one-time payments and subscriptions: This update now lets you automatically generate invoices from one-time payments, paid quotes, payment links, and subscriptions. This automation saves time and reduces manual work, ensuring invoices are consistently created whenever payments occur.
- Commerce Tax Rates API: In 2024 we launched tax rates to support adding taxes to Commerce Hub tools such as Quotes, Invoices and Payments Links. The addition of a Tax Rates API enables you to fetch your tax rates, and then apply them to Line Items when you are creating those objects via API to collect tax.
- Expanded Currency Support for Subscriptions: You can now create subscriptions, and convert deals or quotes, using any currency supported by HubSpot, not just those supported by your payment processor. This added flexibility eliminates currency restrictions, making it easier to manage subscriptions for customers worldwide.
- Hide Billing Dates on Subscription Invoices: A new invoice setting enables you to choose whether to display or hide billing dates on your subscription invoices.
- Import Subscriptions: You can now manage subscriptions just like any other CRM object in HubSpot: importing, customizing, and associating them with other records to track recurring revenue, automate workflows, and streamline renewals.
- Display Partial Payments on Invoices: Your invoices now display complete payment history when customers make partial payments. This helps you track outstanding balances and maintain clear payment records. Your customers benefit from transparent payment history so they can manage their payments more easily.
- Multiple one-time discounts on Invoices: Previously, invoices only allowed one discount to be applied. Now, users can add multiple discounts.
- Invoice PDFs in Payment Receipt Emails: With invoice PDFs attached to payment receipt emails, buyers can easily track payment details, save or print invoices for their records, and reduce follow-ups to you.
- Custom and default Net Payment Terms on Invoices: Invoice users can create, edit, and delete custom payment terms in Invoice Settings. Users can also set a default term, which is applied to new invoices, and can be edited in the invoice editor.
- Apply company branding to invoices: New invoices now automatically reflect your company’s branding. The “Pay Now” and “Download” buttons will now use your brand colors – something that wasn’t customizable before.
- AI-Generated Invoice Emails: Generate professional invoice email drafts automatically using AI. Each email includes relevant invoice context tailored to your customer. AI-generated emails save you time by eliminating manual drafting, and improve your customer’s experience with timely, professional communication.
- Create and Apply Credit Memos to Invoices: Credit memos enable you to record adjustments that reduce customer balances due to overpayments, pre-payments, or other corrections. You can apply credits directly to invoices to keep your financial records accurate.
Payments
With feedback from customers striving for efficient, flexible, and global payment processing, we continued to evolve our payments capabilities. Our latest updates empower businesses to accept payments with ease, provide more options for buyers, and gain deeper insights into their revenue streams.
- HubSpot Payments Available in Canada & UK: This expansion means even more merchants can leverage HubSpot payments to collect payments directly from their CRM
- Switch to HubSpot Payments from Stripe Payment Processing: Commerce Hub customers using Stripe payment processing can now easily switch to HubSpot payments right from within Payments Account settings.
- New Bank Debit Payment Methods (SEPA, BACS, PADs) for HubSpot Payments: Offering additional local bank debit options gives your buyers more choice so they can pay using their preferred payment method
- Expanded Multi-Currency Support for Payments in Commerce Hub: You can now sell in 130+ global currencies through HubSpot payments and Stripe payment processing, enabling you to charge buyers in their preferred local currency.
- Payment Method on File: Storing a payment method for future charges allows you to charge your customers without asking them to complete an online checkout, streamlining revenue collection process.
- Charge a stored payment method in Invoices Editor: You can now charge a buyer’s stored payment method for one-time charges within the Invoices Editor, which simplifies your charge process.
- Default Checkout Fees: You no longer need manual workarounds to add fees when customers pay by credit card. Your customers see fees clearly displayed at checkout before they pay, giving them transparency to choose the best payment method and encouraging them to select lower-cost options like ACH or other bank debit payments.
- Apply and Manage Checkout Fees on Subscriptions: Checkout fees can now be used when creating a manually billed subscription. Additionally, checkout fees can be removed from a subscription, so buyers can update their payment method.
- Set email address to send buyer receipts: In the past, buyer receipts were emailed from a no-reply email address, and buyers could not reply directly to you. Now, you can set a default email address to your team email address, so buyers can respond directly to you and the emails will flow into the HubSpot CRM. This may also improve the email deliverability of buyer receipts.
- Set Maximum Redemptions & Expiration Dates for Discount Codes: You can now set the max number of redemptions and/or an expiration date for a discount code ensuring promotions stay within usage limits for payment links.
- One-Click Subscription Cancellation: Simplify your customer’s subscription cancellation process by allowing them to initiate subscription cancellation with a link in their receipt. You can enable a setting to include a link to open a pre-formatted subscription cancellation email in each buyer’s subscription receipt.
- Commerce Analytics Suite: Previously, there wasn’t a readily available dashboard to analyze this type of data. Now, you can view your sales reports alongside your commerce reports to get a full picture of your business.
- Chargeback and Dispute Visibility for Payments: You’ll now receive automatic notifications at every stage of a payment dispute, with detailed dispute information easily accessible directly within each payment record. This ensures instant awareness and greater visibility, empowering you to respond and resolve disputes quickly and effectively.
- Respond to Disputes & Chargebacks within Commerce Hub: Previously, disputes were managed through a manual email process. Now, you can respond to disputes and view real-time dispute resolution activity within HubSpot.
- Two Way Invoice Sync for Xero: Until now, HubSpot’s Xero integration only supported one-way syncing of invoices from Xero → HubSpot. With this new functionality, you can use invoice sync to send invoices both from Xero → HubSpot, and HubSpot → Xero. This update makes is easy to reflect invoices and payments in your accounting system—you no longer need to manually export invoices from HubSpot and upload them to Xero.
- Commerce User Permissions Settings: Commerce permissions give teams more precise control over who can access and manage commerce functions like quotes, products, billing, and payments.
- Append Buyer Email to Payment Link Redirects: When someone completes a purchase using payment links, you now have the option to include the customer’s email in the redirect URL. This enables better tracking and makes it easier to set up the correct onboarding experience for your customer upon redirect.
- Enable Automatic Billing After First Subscription Invoice Payment: You now have more options for subscription billing. With this update you can set up subscriptions to automatically charge after the first invoice payment, which gives you flexibility in how you collect and store payment methods.
- Subscription Retries for Card Payments: With this update, failed subscription card payments are now automatically retried. When a subscription card payment fails, the system will retry the payment following a predefined schedule to help prevent lost revenue.
- Payments in the new Forms Editor: With Payments in updated forms editor, you can now collect digital payments directly within your HubSpot forms, letting visitors submit responses and pay in one seamless step. Both payment and submission data are stored together for easy tracking, and you can set up simple or conditional redirects to tailor the payment experience for each user.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay Now Available with Stripe Payment Processing: Apple Pay and Google Pay are now available for users using Stripe payment processing, and no action is needed to enable them. If you accept credit or debit cards, then Apple Pay and Google Pay are automatically accepted.
CPQ
In response to valuable customer feedback seeking a more robust quoting solution, we proudly launched our new CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) tool at INBOUND this year. Now, teams can close deals faster with AI-powered quotes, smart approvals, and actionable buyer insights—all while streamlining the quote-to-cash process within a unified customer platform. With powerful automation and reporting features, our CPQ tool gives your business true control and visibility at every step.
- Streamlined Quote Approval for Admins: Admins can now quickly manage and approve quotes directly from the quotes index page, rather than relying on the old task-based process. This streamlines approval workflows, making it easier to review and prioritize quotes without sorting through unrelated tasks.
- Additional Quote Activity Tracking: You can now track additional quote activity events that cover the entire quote journey. New trackable events include: buyer e-signed a quote, quote expired, and quote was manually marked as signed
- Adding Required Documents to Quotes: Customers can now use quote attachments which are additional files that can be uploaded and attached directly to a quote. These attachments will be visible to the recipient within the signing envelope.
- Preview and Customize Quote Emails: You can now customize and preview quote emails before sending them to buyers. You have the option to either send the email directly, or copy the quote link to send it separately.
- Create Quotes from Contact & Company Record Pages: Quotes were previously only available on deal record pages. Now, you can view and create quotes directly from Contact and Company record pages as well.
- Make Verification Optional for Quote E-Signatures: Email verification isn’t always necessary when signing quotes, and requiring it can disrupt the buyer’s quote and purchase experience. We’ve made this step optional, enabling you to choose whether to enable or disable email verification during the signing of a quote.
- Updated Quote Expiration Logic for CPQ: CPQ quotes now remain active after all buyers have signed, allowing unlimited time for payment setup and countersignature, rather than expiring automatically on the expiration date. This prevents processing delays and eliminates the need to recall and re-send quotes when payments or signatures aren’t completed in time.
- Customize Quote Acceptance Section with Rich Text: The “Acceptance” section within AI-powered CPQ quotes can now be edited using rich-text editing.
- Quote Activity in Sales Workspace Feed: You can now see and monitor the latest activity on quotes related to your deals directly within the Sales Workspace Feed.
- Customize Sections, Header, and Summary for CPQ Quotes: Sales admins can now standardize and customize how fields display via the quote template, and sales reps can easily make adjustments at the quote level, making it easy and fast to create and send quotes to buyers.
- Quotes CRM Index Page: The quotes index page now uses the new index page design, giving you more control through customizable columns, views, and side panels.
- Create Quotes from Deal Index: Commerce Professional and Enterprise users can now view quote status and create quotes directly from the Deal Index Table View in the CRM.
- Closing Agent: Closing agent is your AI-powered sales assistant that provides instant responses to buyer questions 24/7. It’s trained on your content: files, URLs, and knowledge base articles, and identifies when human expertise is needed, notifying you in-app, via email, or through Slack and Teams.
- New Product Builder with Product Status: Instead of deleting or duplicating products, you can now easily deactivate outdated products and keep your offerings up to date. This reduces the risk of using old products, while making it simple to reactivate items when needed.
- Tiered Pricing: You can now configure quantity-based tiered pricing directly in HubSpot, giving you the flexibility to scale prices based on how much your customers buy. Whether you offer bulk discounts, sell licenses in blocks, or price services by volume, tiered pricing helps you reflect real-world purchasing behavior without spreadsheets or workarounds.
- Create Product Bundles: Bundles eliminate repetitive work by letting you define once, reuse everywhere. This reduces quote creation time, avoids mistakes (like forgetting installation or shipping), and gives RevOps more control over pricing consistency.
- Line Item Custom Properties: Previously, line items were rigid and custom properties were only available by defining a custom property on Products. Now, you can: customize line items to your sales process without workarounds, add logic-based fields like margin, fees, or discounts, and unify how you manage data across all your core CRM objects.
- Show/Hide Controls for Acceptance: in CPQ Quotes Sales teams want to use quotes for both proposal and agreement/contract use cases. By allowing Acceptance to be hidden, you can better use quotes as a proposal document.
APIs
- Updated Commerce Hub Payments API: With the payments API, you can now create payment data that represents revenue received outside of Commerce Hub, making it easier to unify revenue data in HubSpot. Coupled with the invoices API, you can now create invoices and mark them paid via the API by creating an associated payment.
- Updated Subscription API: You can now use the subscription API to create, update, pause, unpause, and delete subscriptions in HubSpot
