We’ve recently started using Data Studio to pull in Google Sheets as an external data source. It was our assumption that this would keep up-to-date in realtime, or at least automatically refresh itself at a reasonable cadence. But it doesn’t appear to be the case.
We have to manually refresh it – using the Refresh Now feature on the external data sources tab – and even then it sometimes fails to update (the “last updated” field is incorrect, at the time of writing)
My question is: Is this the expected behaviour? Or is something wrong with our dataset?
For context, the idea is that the external data source feeds into a dataset, and the dataset is used to create reports using HubSpot’s native tools (as opposed to embeding a Google Sheet directly onto a dashboard).
